Bruce Arians proclaims that Ellington does not have the body type to be a first string running back. The statistics prove otherwise. Ranking first in yards per carry (7.78) and yards after contact (3.98 through week 8). Lets face it Mendenhall was a decent experiment. He isn't the same back that he was in Pittsburgh and even then he was somewhat sub-par. He lacks the explosiveness to make large gains with his longest run coming in at a paltry 15yds. Ellington on the other hand has repeatedly shown that he can run the corners and explode through the line . Now if only Bruce Arians could see what everybody else does.
Notes: We will see Ellington back in action this Sunday against the Rams as his knee injury is no longer hampering him. Carson palmer is a game time decision, he injured his throwing elbow on his first drop back against the Eagles that resulted in a fumble. Michael Floyd is still battling through his shoulder injury but is expected to play through it again.
